Can you describe what you do? If yo want to gert the image of the button into InDesign, place an AI or PDF file in InDesign, no copy and paste. But the button looks like you are creating a website, why are ou asking in InDesign?

No, you cannot make scrolling text in InDesign to PDF. Yes, you can create a PDF form text field in InDesign and export as interactive PDF. Form fields are not directly part of the PDF, to FDF , which are linked to their PDF.

We transfer and zip compression is another problem, the stupidity of the user as he or she has never learned to open compressed files. There is no need to to use WeTransfer. You can send a link to open the PDF with Acrobat. If you are a CC subscriber you can send a link from Acrobat Pro.

You have to educate your clients to use only Acrobat to view PDFs as all other viewers have a problem to show many PDFs correctly. That is how it is. You cannot change the world. Even if you decide to send flattened PDFs without the live transparency you will get claims, depending on the used viewer, about lines, frames, missing fonts and wrong colors. There exists no PDF which shows up correctly in every PDF viewer except with Acrobat.

I doubt that InDesignis changing the size of your document upon export as InDesign never does this. How do you experience the size change? Could it be, that you have choosen in your print dialogue to fit size to the selected printer size? This is for most people the standard setting. Change fitto siize 8or scale) to NONE.

If AI is PDF compatible it is a PDF. THAT IS WHY THE pdf dialogue comes up, nothing wrong. In Indesign you should use PDF/X-4 or AI files with PDF compatibility. you can open any of thiose AI files in Acrobat pro, if it does nit work, change the extension from AI to PDF.

GREP like wildcards are not possible to add to any dictionary. But you can tag them as [No Language] property. But this can be done automatically via GREP style. Create a Character Style with the [No Language] property. Create a GREP style in your paragraph style where the Character Style is applied automatically.

Any space with a given width will npt allow a break. But there are 2 non breaking spaces which normal width, one with fixed and the other with flexible width, depending on the paragraph setting in Paragraph Fine Tuning.

You should never put content text on the master. The master is for page numbers, running headers, but not for content. If yyou want to have a good starter, make a Library or CC Library element and put it on the page where you need it. Overridein styles do either with specific Paragraph Styles or use Character Styles. For the picture size work withobject styles. You can change theier size via changing the style.

The main purpose for previous and next page numbers is a different. When you have a threaded story accross several pages, you can draw a text frame which touches the story text frame and write ”story is continued on <Next Page Number>. This number will update, if you move the next threaded text frame to a different page. The same is with previous page numbers for continued threaded text stories.

Eraser tool makes no sense in InDesign, therefore you will not find it in InDesign. This tool is part of Photoshop andwith vector functionality in Illustrator. In InDesign you have since the latest version a History Panel where you can step backward like in Photoshiop.
